Our Wax Removal Services

What is micro-suction ear wax removal?

Micro-suction is a gentle and effective method of removing excess ear wax. Using a microscope or specialised illuminated device, our Audiologist can clearly see inside your ear canal. A small, low-pressure suction device then carefully removes the wax. It’s a dry procedure, meaning no water is used.

Is micro-suction painful?

Micro-suction is generally a pain-free procedure. You may hear a gentle suctioning sound during the process. If you experience any discomfort, simply let Marie know, and she will adjust the approach.

How long does the wax removal procedure take?

An ear wax removal appointment typically takes around 20-30 minutes, though it can vary depending on the amount and consistency of the wax. This time also includes an initial examination and aftercare advice.

Who performs the ear wax removal?

All ear wax removal procedures at Wollaston Wax Removal are carried out by Marie, our HCPC registered Audiologist, ensuring you receive professional and safe care.

A Safe and Precise Approach

We primarily use micro-suction, a highly regarded and gentle method for ear wax removal. This procedure involves:

N

Direct Visualisation

Using a microscope or specialised illuminated device (like the TympaHealth system), Marie can see directly into your ear canal and onto your eardrum throughout the entire procedure. This ensures maximum precision and safety.

N

Gentle Suction

A small, low-pressure suction device is used to carefully and precisely remove the ear wax. This technique avoids the use of water, making it a cleaner and often more comfortable experience compared to traditional ear syringing.
